Producticity

Finished work builds a city

Producticity turns the tasks, focus time and habits you finish into XP. Every XP adds to the building going up, every level adds a building, and missed days cost nothing. Here is the whole loop, with the real numbers.

  1. Finish something

    10 / 20 / 40XP for a quick, normal or big task

Tick a task, run a Build Block, keep a habit. Work you finish in a connected tool, like Todoist, Linear, GitHub or Notion, counts on its own.

  2. It becomes XP

    +150XP for the Keystone

The Forge, the rules engine behind the city, turns each finished thing into XP: 2 for every focus minute, 30 for a habit, 150 for the day's Keystone.

  3. XP raises floors

    5 × 30floors × XP in your first building

Every XP goes into the building under construction. Your first building, the Workshop, has 5 floors of 30 XP, and founding your city puts up the first one.

  4. A city grows

    4,050XP to reach level 10

Each level adds one building, and later districts build taller. Level 10 takes 4,050 XP in all and level 50 takes 51,450.

In the app

Real screens from the iPhone app, with a demo city. The web app has the same Today, City and Progress.

Your first floor goes up on day one

Name your city, pick a Starter Blueprint (Morning Launch, Deep Work, Sleep Reset or Doom-Pile Clear) and the city is founded: +30 XP, exactly the first floor. Connect a tool if you like, add what you've already finished today, and watch it land on top. It's designed to take under five minutes.

The last onboarding step in the iPhone app: “What have you already done today?” over the first building going up.

One Keystone, then everything else

Today starts with one Keystone: the thing that makes the day count. Finishing it earns 150 XP, boosted by Momentum, and planning tomorrow's the night before earns 30. Below it sit your tasks, with the ones from connected tools merged in and tagged with where they came from, and your habits at 30 XP each.

Today's task list in the iPhone app: tasks tagged Todoist, Linear, GitHub and Notion, then habits.

Build Blocks light the windows

A Build Block is a focus timer of 25, 50 or 90 minutes. Each focus minute earns 2 XP, every 30 minutes light a window in the building going up, and a full block opens a supply crate. Stop early and the minutes still count once you pass 10. On iPhone a running block is a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.

Your city on the Home Screen

The iPhone app has small, medium and large widgets and a Lock Screen widget. They show the building going up, how much XP it still needs and today's Momentum, without opening the app.

Beat your best, not anyone else

Progress shows your XP by day, week and month next to your best ever, with one line to beat. The only person it compares you with is you.

What keeps a day moving

Small rules with their real numbers. None of them can take anything away.

MomentumMomentum ×1.25
A daily multiplier on focus and Keystone XP. Each Build Block, Keystone or shipped Blueprint adds a segment worth ×0.125, up to ×2.0. It resets at midnight and never drops because something slipped.
Quests
3 a day, drawn only from what you've set up, such as “Finish 3 tasks”, “Do a 25-minute Build Block” or “Close 2 Todoist tasks”. Each earns 40 XP, and all three open a Rare crate or better.
This Week's Blueprints
Set 3 goals for the week (50 XP). Each one shipped earns 250 XP and a Rare crate or better; ship all three and the week is won: 300 XP and an Epic crate or better.
Supply crates
Crates come from full Build Blocks, Blueprints, quests, habit streaks and days with every habit done. Common +25, Rare +60, Epic +150, Legendary +400 XP, and 10 crates without an Epic guarantee one.

Your city waited

Miss a day, or a week, and nothing is taken away. When you come back, the app opens on “Your city waited”: what's still standing, and any Rain Days that covered the gap. No lost streak, no guilt message.

2Rain Days in the bank, at most

  • Nothing is ever deducted

No XP is taken away and buildings never decay. The one exception is a task you un-tick within 24 hours, which hands back the XP it earned, so a mis-tap doesn't count.

  • Rain Days cover missed days

Earn one for every 7 good days and bank up to 2. One is spent on its own when you miss a day, so habit streaks carry on.

  • Reminders never nag

One daily reminder at most, only if you turn it on, and it never says what you haven't done.

Neighbours

Send a friend your invite link (it works for 14 days) and your cities sit side by side, up to 50 neighbours. They see your city, its level and your XP this week, never your tasks, habits or health data. There's no ranking. Each week a Skyline Card, a picture of your city and its week, is ready to share.

How the city grows

One building per level. Reaching level L takes round(150 × (L − 1)^1.5) XP in all, so level 10 takes 4,050 and level 50 takes 51,450. Later districts build taller.

Questions

How does Producticity work?
You finish work (tasks, focus time, habits) in the app or in a connected tool, the Forge turns it into XP, and every XP adds to the building under construction. Each level adds a building, so the city grows through districts from Workshop Row to the Skyline.
Do I lose XP or buildings if I miss a day?
No. Nothing is ever deducted and buildings never decay. A banked Rain Day covers a missed day on its own, and you can bank 2.
Do I need to connect other apps?
No. Tasks, habits, Build Blocks and the Keystone all work in Producticity on its own. Connecting a tool means work you finish there arrives as XP without entering it twice.
Is there a cap on XP from connected tools?
Yes. Synced tasks earn up to 400 XP a day, each task earns once per occurrence, and calendar focus counts up to 240 minutes a day. AI apps and automations share the same 400 XP, so nothing automatic out-earns doing the work.
How much XP does a level take?
Reaching level L takes 150 × (L − 1)^1.5 XP in all, rounded: 150 XP for level 2, 4,050 for level 10 and 51,450 for level 50.
Is there an iPhone app?
A native iPhone app, with widgets, a Build Block Live Activity and optional Apple Health steps and sleep, is in testing and isn't on the App Store yet. Producticity runs in the browser on any phone or computer today.
